Oh, it's not exactly about personal attitude toward manpages, but rather about the fact that manpage format (in our opinion) does not suit well for writing a *manual*. It may be good for a reference, perhaps, but not for the manual. On the other hand, this manpage question is reappearing quite often, and this seems to indicate that we'd better include some kind of manpage (perhaps generated via help2man) in the tar distribution.
