Hi Andreas,

could a new version of GNU tar including commit 08c3fc2e ("Avoid acl_
prefix for functions") please be released?

I'm afraid it is not ready for the release yet.

Alright. GNU tar v1.35 will not build on systems with libacl v2.4.0.
If what's on the master branch is not ready to be released, can we
apply commit 08c3fc2e on top of v1.35 and release that as v1.36 so
that people's builds won't break?

Could you please be more specific with the build problem with tar?
The current development version of LFS builds acl-2.4.0 and after that tar-1.35 without any apparent issues.

Other dependencies: glibc-2.44, gcc-16.1.0, binutils-2.47.
