Has any work been done on having makeinfo support the Open eBook format?
It's an XML non-proprietary format found at http://www.openbook.org.  It's
slated to be used in upcoming versions of eBook readers.  It's quite similar
to HTML, but with nice things like Unicode; a poor man's PDF if you will.

I would be interested in working on this, since I am currently in a Texinfo
project  that would like to produce as many open formats as possible.
