Then perhaps you should consider adding more index entries ;-)  Also,
if the number of directives is very small, why make them a separate
index? just use @syncodeindex to join several indices together into a
larger one.  If you do that, you may wish to make the index entries
tell explicitly which ones refer to directives:

  @findex ifdef @r{directive}
