I didn't, but others did, cf. the lilypond texinfo manual.

For example, with a customized texi2html which assigns a special
colour to the @example environment (in addition to using a monospaced
font).  Not that I encourage this; I would rather define a different
environment.

My conclusion: There are texinfo documents which use @table within
@example.  Either fix it or disallow it.
