I've also spent some time re-implementing my JavaScript prototype, which you can test online here: http://per.bothner.com/kawa/invoke/ or download this archive: http://per.bothner.com/kawa/kawa-manual.epub (Unzip and browse to OEBPS/index.html.) The prototype loads each page on-demand in an iframe. It should be a good basis for features such as whole-document search and keyboard-based navigation (as discussed in the roadmap), though neither of those are actually implemented yet.
