Where did that page come from? I had never known that page existed. But something is updating it somewhat. Does anyone have any information on the pages under /directory/? Otherwise I will track that down with the gnu.org folks. Having found that other rogue page would have been a red herring for anyone. But here is what I expected. If you had looked at the main gnu.org pages they would have led you through his path. http://www.gnu.org/ http://www.gnu.org/software/software.html http://www.gnu.org/software/textutils/textutils.html I consider the pages under /software/*utils.html to be the main pages. In all of those pages for file, text, shell, you will find a pointer to the FAQ.
