Is the 10^7 limit exact? I would understand problems on 2^31 or 2^32 boundry.
This one looks like ASCII to binary conversion problem.

The quoted line contains 0xA0 bytes (e.g. just before "everyone"). Could you
compare it with line for smaller file from the .listing?
