The image does not look like the GTK build (non-anti-aliased text in menu bar and clock). And even though I forgot what could produce the error popup, it doesn't sound like an error that would make sense for a GTK version.

in Ubuntu 25.04. Does not install GTK version. When selecting View/Fonts I get
the GTK build deeor in screenshot.
