To make my last comment clear, I'm thinking of the situation when you are
calling an automated call centre, where they tell you, "Press 1 for X, Press 2
for Y and so on". Or when you are entering a number to top up your credit on
your 'phone.

With a mechanical keyboard, that isn't a problem. But in this case, the onscreen
keyboard needs to stay visible and responsive right through the call.

Does it correctly shut down if you hold the powerbutton until the popup menu
opens and then select "Power down" ?

When pressing the button for a long time and selecting "Power down", the device
usually shuts down correctly.

In the described case, the button is only pressed for a short time to return to
the today screen and the intention was never to shut down the system. The
x-server seems to just die.

NB, this does not happen every time. It is somewhat repeatable, but I cannot
trigger it at will.

Seems like just opening applications and then returning to today by tapping the
power-button for a moment will trigger it eventually.

This was indeed a regression.
The fix-EVIOCGRAB-semantics patch is now updated to apply for kernel 2.6.22.5
which fixes this issue.
Please use uImage-2.6.22.5-moko11-r2-fic-gta01.bin

Although this is not specifically the same bug, I am just posting that using a
newer (GCC >/= 4.1) overcomes the -fvisibility=hidden "unrecognized command line
option" problem I detailed above for uicmoc4-native_4.3.1.bb Sorry for the
noise. At this point I consider my problem solved.

[This e-mail has been automatically generated.]

You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla
bugsystem (http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/) that require
attention.

All of these bugs are in the NEW state, and have not been touched
in 7 days or more. You need to take a look at them, and
decide on an initial action.

Generally, this means one of three things:

(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to someone
else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make sure that
the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the "Reassign bug to
    owner of selected component" option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the "Accept bug" command.

To get a list of all NEW bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark it if you like!):

http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEW&[EMAIL
PROTECTED]

Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/query.cgi.

Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs that
haven't been touched for a week or more.

You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!

mh, I think now it is too late to really fix this for GTA01. People have just
gotten used to the fact, and this kind of change would introduce changes in the
way how lowlevel_foo.bin is operated.
