URL-structure  : subject/index/999/12
File-structure : subject/999/12

subject/index contains a template for all sub-folders and sub-files to subject/

so, the script is in subject/index with the parameters /999/12
I then split the parameters and get the relevant directory (999) and file (12)
which then form the basis for php-including the relevant file(s) - in my case in
connection with a cookie indicating the language chosen, so the actual filnames
are subject/999/12.da , subject/999/12.en - etc.

hope that clarifies things a bit :-) sometimes, it's har to explain things that
you yourself find to be a simple idea ;-)
