http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=24156 robots.txt or robots=none metadata would be nice on canned /manual/ directory Summary: robots.txt or robots=none metadata would be nice on canned /manual/ directory Product: Apache httpd-2.0 Version: 2.0.47 Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: Other Component: Documentation AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Many people run Apache without realizing (or forget) and get your installation text page. It typically contains a link to the documentation, which is useful for the administrator but if found by a Web robot may chew up storage and bandwidth to no real purpose (apache.org being a better place to look than test54.dumbo.org). It might be useful if the /manual/index.html page included with Apache had a "meta name=robots content=none" , or perhaps if Apache shipped with a prototype /robots.txt file. http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/exclusion.html seems to have reasonable documentation. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
