Okay on a little further examination I am still getting an alignment bus error 
from an std instruction BUT it would appear all the structure offsets are 8-
byte aligned -- which I guess means the structure allocated by APR's rmm is 
not?!?  If so, this would appear *not* to be the gcc bug.

This all seems hard to believe...

[I applied the latest apr_rmm.c to no avail.]

Note that diffing the rudedog.org and latest Apache 2 sources for 
util_ldap_cache_mgr.c seems to indicate that the main switch in the routine 
that's crashing is from MM to APR's rmm....
