Do you have any 3rd party modules loaded (like e.g. php)? Often Linux distros deliver patched versions of Apache which makes it impossible to find the error. So I would propose the following: 1. Report this error to Debian. 2. Download the sources for 2.0.59 / 2.0.55, compile httpd yourself and check if the problem remains with these self compiled httpd's.
