And therein lies what I believe to be the bug. I should have been more explicit in my original post but, the configure line for both was: ./configure --enable-mods-shared=all --enable-authz-dbm --enable-authn-dbm --with-gdbm --enable-speling=shared --with-ssl --enable-ssl --enable-deflate I added the enable-auth?-dbm bits when it didn't work.
