Your observations about the packer transfer are in line with what we are
seeing. Unfortunately, the data in the packets seems duplicate the data in the
first packet.
The only change for a working to a bad configuration is the configuration of
the connection in Apache between Apache and Tomcat. Using mod_jk to the same
Tomcat Connector works just fine. Using mod_proxy to the http connector works
just fine.
I am working on getting a network trace for you.
