Thinking more about it it seems my athn(4) works for a couple of minutes
while on battery and half an hour while on ac. The urtwn(4) device I
have used in the past is a mini-device and it draws less power then my
current athn(4) device.
I think that this issue is usb/power related.
What I do know is that athn on USB works perfectly fine in various
other configurations I could test. Try your adapter with OpenBSD on
various machines and I bet you'll see that in some machines it will
expose problems and in some it won't.
I will try it on another hardware just to be sure.
