So the next day I grabbed a fresh miniroot62.fs, put the very same
patched bootx64.efi and was able to boot from it past wsdisplay0 this
time. Installation went on without problems, radeonfb(4) is able to pick
up native resolution, dmesg attached.
I don't know why it worked today but it did, so I'm now trying to fix
this in more generic manner compared to the dirty 768px workaround.
FWIW, FreeBSD 12-CURRENT boots fine using some 640x480(?) mode.
Any kind of help is highly appreciated, first time I'm knee deep in the
UEFI specs.
