Thanks for your report! Would you mind enabling the XHCI_DEBUG and EHCI_DEBUG 
settings in your kernel (add those, recompile, install the new kernel, reboot), 
and provide the dmesg you get then?

The general picture presently is that EHCI  (USB2) is mature and XHCI (USB3) is 
close to but not quite mature.
