Hello -
I am in the process of bringing up a build VM on KVM/Linux to start
some 6.2 upgrades - however the 6.2 release ISO did not yield a
fully functional install on this particular VM (yes, SHA checks
run) - there were various (ignored) CRC errors during the install
unpacking stage as well as SIGFPE of various daemons on boot, login
not passing through to the second step of password, etc. The iso
was also refetched from a different mirror, etc.
The previous disk image with a stale 6.1-current did work (fpu.c
v1.33.6.1), as well the December 11 snapshot.
I checked cvsweb and saw there had been some activity in fpu.c, so
I booted from the snapshot, and was able to build a 6.2-current
kernel containing the latest v1.39 of amd64/fpu.c while chrooted into the
6.2 disk image , which seem to run successfully (none of the boot
errors occur and console login is successful).
Mentioning here although fixed in the snap this since it seems like
it might be worth reporting. The host processor is an AMD FX-8320E
running KVM (perhaps why it hasn't been reported yet ;), dmesg from
the backported 6.2 boot is attached- let me know if I can provide
or test anything else.
