Hello,

Regarding the recent lockup report with Alpine Linux version 3.9 with the virt kernel in OpenBSD vmm, I would like to provide additional information.

I have also seen lockups (although not similar) a few days ago when running their iso on Linux KVM, as shipped with Ubuntu 18.10. That is, qemu 2.12 and Linux kernel 4.18.something. The symptoms were that, in virt-manager, the virtual machine would put itself on pause (suspend? I don't know). It doesn't happen with other guests. Given that, I cannot exclude a possibility that this is an issue with Alpine itself as a guest (at least on virtio), not with OpenBSD vmm or with Linux KVM.

OTOH, it works fine today, so I guess this is not a useful observation.

So - could you please verify that you can run the same Alpine VM (or successfully install from the same iso) in a different hypervisor?
