you don't need to start from tarballs, try

rm -r /usr/src/*

cd /usr
cvs -q -d [email protected]:/cvs co -P src/sys
cd /usr/src
patch -p0 < drm.diff
cd /sys/arch/amd64/compile/GENERIC.MP
make obj && make config && make
