Thanks.

Everything continued to work, so I wasn't worry about it. But I shared in case
anyone was interested.

I'm more interested in being able to plug in a USB 3 to rj4 adapter, so that I
can expand my router to have an additional NIC. No idea why my rge0 interface
went down when I plugged in the ure device.

Here's another bit that found in my logs.

from daemon log:

Nov 21 16:45:31 xxxxx dhcp6leased[78165]: rge0 went down, deprecating prefix
delegation #0 xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx::/64 from server 00010001615da046005056b2453b

from messages log:

Nov 21 16:45:40 xxxxx /bsd: ure0 at uhub0 port 14 configuration 1 interface 0
"Realtek USB 10/100/1000 LAN" rev 3.20/31.01 addr 2

The ure0 device shows up 9 seconds after the rge0 went down.

I've ordered an axe(4) device to try next.

Let me know what additional information I can provide.

This is harmless and was fixed in
https://github.com/openbsd/src/commit/c4226f0f081c50026f2892de5abeb19f30304d4c
