Upload a picture of the screen somewhere and send a link.

It's mot clear, is this immediately when you boot the installer,
or is it when you've finished install and booted the newly
installed system?

huh? where did you see that? it's not true.

it's unlikely to be any better and a bunch of packages are not available
on i386.

worth checking, but it doesn't seem like that to me from the reported
symptoms.
