That was indeed the problem. I reinstalled OpenBSD as BIOS/MBR (it refused to boot UEFI/GPT) on the SSD, disconnected the DVD drive, connected the SSD in its place, and then booted into it. 7.8 suspended and resumed properly. 7.8 (the release) hibernated but threw a kernel panic when attempting to resume. 7.8-current suspended, hibernated, and resumed from both properly. -- xoddf2 | he/him/his | https://wlair.us.to/ | PGP: 765BE3ED
