I'm no expert, but the most likely cause is your old Thinkpad is not handling well your new nvme's power-saving features, this is triggering a wake-up as soon as you try to hibernate. The best way to confirm if this is the cause is to try with the old drive, the one that worked in 2024, installing the last version of OpenBSD temporarily on it. (Another things I'd do is to check if the BIOS is up to date. Also, try tweaking BIOS configuration.) -- Walter
