I am interested in getting future Sun/OpenJDK 32-bit Windows binaries built with Large Address Aware support. The JRockit VM is built this way, and it allows one to work with more and larger direct NIO buffers when running on Windows Server 2003 x64, while at the same time using the 32-bit JVM and 32-bit libraries. It seems one can edit the PE headers using Microsoft's editbin tool, but I don't know if this is sufficient to make the Sun/OpenJDK truly LAA. This might be something that Ted Neward could address with his work on the "OpenJDK on Windows" project, if he has time? Thoughts? Regards, Albert
