Hi everybody, I just wanted to ask what's the status of the "Hotspot makefile conversion to new build-infra" project which was announced [1] more than a year ago (yes, time flies:)
I'm especially interested in the nmake to GNU-make conversion of the HotSpot make files for Windows. We've already done that at SAP a long time ago and I've offered to contribute it to the OpenJDK. However, taking into account the potential complete rewrite of the whole HotSpot build system, this probably doesn't make sense. On the other hand, taking into account the current Java 9 schedule, we probably don't have too much time left before the change of the build system will be considered too critical for integration into jdk9. So is there anybody (still) working on this project and is it still targeted for jdk 9 or has it been abandoned or re-targeted to after Java 9? Thank you and best regards, Volker [1] http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/build-infra-dev/2013-December/003339.html
