I'd rather not revert -- that checkin removed a lot of cruft from
{{{setup.py}}}. However, it sounds like just removing the
setuptools_require would do the trick.
I don't really want to check an egg into github, and Tom's right that this
is a niche use of {{{setup.py}}}, so a minimally invasive fix is probably
best.
Marc, what do you think? Is there an easy way for us to indicate this
dependency clearly to the user, without automatically installing it?
