It did not sound like a joke to me.  This is not the way to go about things.

Yes Bruce and again it was with a smile. I have worked with PD in the past
and am aware of welfare checks...Lets hope we dont really need one at the
end of FD during break down of the site. On the other hand a non emergency
come if you can information call could be a reallity with some law
enforcement agencys.I would not use dispatch to make the invite for Ft Bend
PD. Anyway this did stirr some intrest in FD. Sorry you missed the smile :-}
and got ticked

 

BTW- Think we now have a PD served agency officer to attend FD

calling a police emergency or non-emergency and requesting service is the
same as making a report. a false report is never something you would want to
do, especially to take a unit out of service on a welfare check for
something you know does not exist. i would not want to be on the hook if the
unit gets ticked and wants to file on someone. this should not even be a
point of discussion.
