Tube radios are fun( one day in the week) but still like newer rigs...or at least what boat anchor I can afford. I will NOT look for DX on the SWAN. Some dont have the best in radio, power and antenna but still have fun with the extra challange of the chase 73 Bill

Split funtion was NOT unless I hook up and use the external VFO. And to top it off I use a # 2 pencil with hand log to remeber call signs that day for the Swan users net or the BVARC Ragchew net. Gotta Love tube glow. SWAN RADIO- life is too short for a puni signal and tube TX audio is when set right the BEST. tnx for the comments Buce and I wish all good hunting for Cocos Island 73 Bill WS5H ----- Original Message ----- From: Bruce To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, February 15, 2015 11:07 PM Subject: Re: [BVARC] Cocos Island soon on air i have my radio programmed and compter controlled to do all that except reply when it hears themcome back with my call. i use macro express to control my computer. i use belkin wemo to turn radio on either by computer or from the internet. guess i can use dragon voice recognition to listen for the reply to my call. that is a thought. 73...bruce Sent from my iPhone At Feb 15, 2015, 10:10:17 PM, Bill Stone<'[email protected]'> wrote: All DX requires some effort. Cocos Island is near enough that you should be able to work them, but a directional antenna and or amplifier is always nice. I am without a good directional antenna these days, but if the rain will hold off for a while I may be able to fix that.
