Split operation is pretty simple. You transmit on one frequency and listen
on another. If your radio has two VFO's you set the main VFO (VFO A) to
listen to the station transmitting and set the second VFO (VFO B) to where
the station said he is listening.

For example, If you are listening to a DX station on 14200 and the station
says listening up 10. Your VFO A is on 14200. Set VFO B on 14210. Press
the SPLIT button on your transceiver. Key the rig. Most rigs will say in
Split mode till you turn it off.

Sometimes he'll say 10-15 up. Meaning he is going to tune 10-15KHz up, So
if you are 11 or 12 Khz higher you might have a better chance of the DX
station hearing you then if you are exactly 10 KHz up.

Try it. You'll catch on after a while. What radio do you have?

Hello all,

I'm curious about 'working split.' Does BVARC have any online documentation
about how to do this?

Lid fest.

The guy is working Simplex 14200 calling for Sud YCentro America. You should
hear the Lids in the US pretending they speak Spanish hoping to fool the op.
It's comical.

He's got huge pile up. Don't know why he doesn't wok split. Think I will
wait till tomorrow.

Had a pretty good day today. Knocked off Rodrigues Island and St. Barthelmey
