Rob, go to KenwoodUSA.COM and download a copy of the TS-590 manual at your
apartment or office. It is a late model and will give you specfic steps to
work split. You may goof and if you do, don't let the KC police intimidate
you, but be sure you are the one that goofed. There will be a chorus of UP UP
UP wether you goof or not, but if he answers you, be sure you are hearing the
right station. Above all, listen to the station and follow directions because
he will not answer you unless you transmit where he is listening! Willis

pretty sure my rig has such an function. I’ve got a Kenwood TS-590SG. But
the only time I get to operate is when I’m up at the cabin in Woodville. I
bought a Nifty Manual with the rig when I got it. I’ll take a look at it
tonight. This working 7 days a week is getting in the way of good DX… I
may have to find a compromise antenna for the apartment here in Houston, since
it doesn’t look like I’m going to have a weekend off any time soon. Thanks
