scam for sure and be careful because as soon as you say no, he is going
to get another ham call sign and try again. just tell him someone
offered you $100 more and you sold it to them.
there was someone in houston that put a car up for sale on craigslist.
someone out of state offered to buy it and pull the scam. he fell for it
and lost about $1500. thing is, at least with a car, why would someone
pay you your asking price never even seeing the car. unless it was a
certified collectors edition, that is plain stupid and should have sent
up red flags.
you did good and saved yourself a lot of grief.
pct 4 constable has a really good internet crime division. you might
want to give them a call. before you do that, look at the full header of
their email message. look and see the server that the message came from.
then go to http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp and see
where the ip belongs, if it is out of the united states, nothing can
really be done. however, if it is a stateside ip, the constables might
be interested in pursuing it and you might help catch a career criminal.
they might go after the person for identity theft and that gives a
little more bite than you simply losing a few hundred dollars.

that became a silent key this past November? Don't know if their
