Stay with MicroCenter.

I have a laptop with a clean install of 7 that is dedicated to all things ham.
(with wheat bread, lettuce, tomatos, pickles and lots of mayo).

I prefer to KEEP Windows 7, so installed a BOT that prevents Microsoft from
upgrading through updates..

I don't have the link handy, it was published in the Houston Chronicle several
weekends ago, already the Windows 10

prompt has disappeared from tool bar..

If I wanted Windows 10 bad enough, would buy one NEW already installed (Dell
and HP have both desktops and laptops with low prices, ready to go at Microsoft
Store, or from any dealer, Micro Center and Best Buy have the best prices and
offer trained support..

One of the neatest things I found is right-clicking the little window icon in

I have never had an issue upgrading to Win 10 but I did have to be patient and
let the process work.

Before you start, make sure that you have nothing else running.

The upgrade process is not very good about updating its progress. So be
prepared to leave it running and do something else.

After the base system is installed, it then downloads and installs all the
updates since the released date. That takes more time.

Like I said, be patient.

I have finally started upgrading the computer to Win10 last night but ran into
a problem. It is stuck on "Getting Updates" and is stuck on "0%".

Any ideas other than just trying again tonight?
