Call ahead to Fry's Electronics. Their 12 AWG did not break the bank in a small
spool. Without an account or part number, the larger companies would charge too
much for a small order of this 10 AWG. You did not specify 120 VAC or 12 VDC
use, as the insulation can be quite different*. Any heavier, and you could
check with a welding supply house.
Many automotive jumper cables are fine if you are in a hurry, yet they are a
bit bulky and AWG too low if you really need 10 AWG. Folks at hamfests
sometimes will buy the extra jumper cable 'clips', for a dollar or so.

* Much is also used for 48 VDC wiring at tower sites, you might know a cellular
service guy with some scraps.

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced local source for 10ga Zip Cord (Red and
Black insulation)?
