Not sure if anyone knew him, WA5MFO – Robert Spurny of West Columbia TX, is now SK. If you were involved with MARS in the 80’s, 90’s and possibly the early 2000’s you might have known him. Mr. Spurny inspired me to get back into ham radio after a 20 year absence. Through him, at least two other hams, my sons, now enjoy ham radio and a third ham, Steve Condos, K9SAC, is back on the air, thanks to Mr. Spurny’s generosity. Propagation of a different type.
