Folks-
Due to the success of our garage sale on Friday, Karen and I will not be taking the larger items out on the driveway. We will be back this afternoon to sell a few remaining items: ( Sorry, the 30-amp supply did sell- before I received the note- at about 1/7th the cost of a new name-brand supply ) RS- 43-139 Pocket Tone Dialer, manual, box, battery (3AAA) compartment clean, works. ( Echolink DTMF w/o internal DTMF on microphone ) MFJ-1702B 2-Position Coax Switch, Center Ground, SO connectors ( Female ) to match PL-259 unopened was $21.95 D-Link DWL-G730AP Unopened (All above items excess to needs, please contact me after 7 P.M. if not today (3/19 ) between 3 P.M. & 7 P.M. CDT). Component Parts too numerous to list individually Items 3-6 below, A-Z also Sorry- few power tools as listed below. Small hand router ( think plaques, etc. only remaining power tool for sale ). As to hours, we may only be available from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. due to possible new employment ( training Monday ). -and- The radio shack store on Fry Road just SW of highway 10 is still open if you are looking for new soldering tips except desoldering tips. There are a few yellow tag items at this time, yet most parts are 10% off. Coax/N adapters etc. are in good supply for now, as is hookup and 'Magnet'(enamelled) wire. Radio related items including wireless microphones are mostly absent. Audio, Television, Maker ( Arduino, Kits ), and PC items are in abundance. One store employee there stated that they expect to stay open, with a 'new batch of different mechandise' expected someday soon. Approx. 1/3 of the store is Sprint telephone sales are. ( Disclaimer- While I once worked as a seasonal RS employee, I have no financial interest in their success ). Jon L. They made it in a niche market of electronic components for hams and other enthusiasts Loved those "surprise packs" resistors, caps, transistors, IC's .. it was great. I built a nice hf band transceiver from mostly RS parts (and Heathkit!). They were the first major distributor of personal PC TRS80. Had great Realistic audio equipment line competing with Pioneer, Sony, and even Marantz and others of the day I worked there for about 4 years and had considerable Radio Shack stock. NYSE has pulled them from the exchange. I will miss having them... even of late they were a great source for fuses and cables. I will always remember "The Shack" Best Regards, Pat Cameron ( 832 ) 885-2899 On Thu, Mar 16, 2017 at 2:06 PM, Chris Boone via BVARC < [email protected] > wrote: Its gets better the closer it gets to the closing date… From: BVARC [mailto: [email protected] ] On Behalf Of Scott Medbury via BVARC Sent: Thursday, March 16, 2017 1:43 PM To: 'BRAZOS VALLEY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB' < [email protected] > Cc: Scott Medbury < [email protected] > Subject: Re: [BVARC] Houston area Radio Shack Store closings from Houston Business Journal The Sugar Land store on Hwy 6 at Williams Trace is closing and currently has items marked 20% off, Scott Medbury 16802 Aprilmont Drive Sugar Land, TX 77498-1941 [email protected] From: BVARC [mailto: [email protected] ] On Behalf Of Howard Bingham via BVARC Sent: Thursday, March 16, 2017 7:49 AM To: BRAZOS VALLEY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB Cc: Howard Bingham Subject: [BVARC] Houston area Radio Shack Store closings from Houston Business Journal --------- Forwarded message ---------- From: "The Business Journals" < [email protected] > Date: Mar 15, 2017 1:40 PM Subject: [email protected] sent you an article from Houston Business Journal To: < [email protected] > Cc: If you are having trouble viewing this email, click here This article was sent to you by [email protected] : Sender's comment: Radio Shack stores in Houston area closing Second RadioShack bankruptcy hits Houston-area stores Published: March 14, 2017 RadioShack will close nearly 200 stores nationwide as it works through its second bankruptcy in two years years, including several in the Houston area.
