Subject: [BVARC] Solar powered FT-817

Have not powered the radio yet but results so far are promising. The 817
requires 10.5 volts

nominal at 2 amps on TX. Through the controller, the panel voltage is
13.8. It then goes to a

voltage buck to reduce the voltage to 10.5-10.6. The controller has a
fused limit of 3 amps. Note,

there is no battery in the system.

The next step is to power the radio with yet another fuse protection.
