Hi Jon,

I'm not on the board, but I've been to three or four Field Days at BVARC.  I grew up with
a mother who said on numerous occasions, "Swearing is the attempt of a feeble mind
to express itself".  It's safe to say in all my time there that I never heard a
feeble mind trying to express itself, they just sit quietly doing CW!  LAUGH OUT LOUD,
sorry i couldn't resist.  But honestly, i don't remember being offended by language,
cigarette smoke maybe but no swearing, that i noticed and I'm kinda sensitive to it.

I'm comfortable bringing my Christian Friends to Field Day.

FWIW

My name is Jerry K9GEM.  As a past board member I can speak for me. I think
that givin situation the hams could and would CLEAN up their language given the
publicity we would receive in return. Please review the first sentence.

Hi Mr. Hardwick ( Mike or Michael if you prefer )-
Last evening I did not hear the name Donovan, and was not cleared by the XYL
to pay dues.
( I just landed a new contract  or contract to hire position ).
Will someone be available to accept dues at the Fire Station?

and on another note:
Do you need lumber for stakes to hold these antennas ( wire antennas ) firm at
the ground end or guy-ropes?
I may be able to provide some short, unsharpened, 2x2 scraps. Lathe or other
woodworking tools could be an issue with them, unless someone wants to be
heroic with a hatchet.

and:
My new job does involve a Christian Television station. It is *possible* that
they would consider a remote- yet I am awfully new to working for them.
Do you think that the 'language' of some of the amateurs involved might be
considered to be less than Christian?
See attachment for an example. Thanks-
