As the Chief Engineer of several paging companies in the 80’s and 90’s Motorola
along with BBL then Glenayre were our major suppliers of technology and
hardware to maintain a steep curve of business.
Each were a love them and hate them company.  Motorola was famous for sending a
salesman to town and taking you to a very nice restaurant as their equipment
bombed.
Well one year at the industry conference in Orlando and it was our night at
Disney World; I found myself sitting next to my Motorola salesman on the
Haunted House ride. It takes you up on a shaky elevator, shows you the Twilight
Zone at one stop then drops you a couple of floors then an nice view and then a
drop and so on.  I commented to my salesman that this was just like Motorola
software.  He didn’t comment.
