That's the trick, MR! BTW this was not mentioned
on p. 66 of the TV-71A manual. There it only tells
one how to get the WX channels, but not to unget
them. To call Kenwood 's documentation "manuals"
is a real stretch. They are more a semi-ordered set
of semi-accurate examples of using the radio's various
buttons. I had a TS-590S and loved the radio, but the
manual was obtuse, sometimes wrong and generally
a real pain.

mode every Wednesday at noon, and just hit MR button to switch back
out of WX mode.

Is it a TM-V71A? Have you tried just hitting the PF1 key again.
This is the way my TH-D210A works.
Also, I can go back to memory mode to get out of WX mode.

I accidentally touched the PF1 key when I turned
my 2 Mtr. FM rig on today (TV-71A) . This selected the
WX channels (162.xxx MHz) and I can't get it to change
back to the 144 MHz band. The [F], [BAND SEL] sequence
does not seem to work?? My rig is useless for now and
all I can get is the WX reports.
