I agree with Jeff. Even though the Hamfest was not as big as previous years,
the people who attended it seem to enjoy it. Congratulations to all the
volunteers who worked so hard to make this event work.

Now, let us think positively and start planning on how we can make the Hamfest
better every year starting with the next one.

I thought it was a great Hamfest and I didn't get an opportunity to help this
year. So I guess I am just a member. No offense taken, but I am sure
condescending comments could have a negative affect on getting more people
involved.

As a club we should value all our members. They pay dues and I see allot of
people doing all they can. My thoughts is that is perfectly fine. If I spent
time wondering why other people weren't involved I would be wasting my time in
which I could be learning CW.

Personally I have done lots of Volunteer work over the years Professionally and
in the Hobby and it is always more work than reward and every time I do it, it
is because I like to do it and I ended it about right there.

The Ballon team is always a fun bunch to watch. The TDXS booth was nice as was
the soldering station. The Testing table is always a fun place to hang out.
Food was well done this year. The tail gating had a nice selection of stuff.
Website was great. Positives across the board. The state even did there part
with construction and signs. :) Finding Hamfest should always be the first
challenge of the day.

I even had a nice looking lady sell me another Navy Hat... :)

Hamfest is a TON of work for the board, volunteers , vendors, and clubs alike.
All who deserve more appreciation than they will ever get. Big THANK YOU to
all that supported the event, and onto Next year.

What we could be doing is using social media after the fact to let other hams
know what they missed, followed by the dates for next year.

Have Fun,

Jeff

Ok - I have been a member for almost a year. I thought it was a great show. I
even bought a table. I will tell you if you need people to help, not only I
will but my company is ready to help too.
We are as a club, in my opinion, a great set of people, we just have to find
the right place for the right people.

And as for Mike, he does what he can and I believe that he wears a lot of hats
and just needs more support.

I know I am going to become unpopular with some members saying this, but there
are 2 types of members

1) those who are members and,

2) those who are active members.

I am now standing up to say I want to be an active member, please let me know
what is needed.

and to those who did work on the show this year (and I mean this in all caps)
WHAT AND AWESOME JOB AND CUNGRATS AND THANK YOU.

I personally, I think GHHH turned out pretty well. I hope those complaining
about it actually did something to help. Hamfests don’t happen by themselves,
they require volunteers and we didn’t hear from near enough of our members. .
If you’re not volunteering for some reason that’s understandable. But if you
just didn’t bother to show up, then you have no right to gripe.
