There's a whole community of people who live in their RVs, and they have
some innovative solutions that allow them to run off the batteries, and
simultaneously charge the batteries from a variety of sources using solar,
generator, or shore power.

I don't think they're cheap, though.  But they look fairly easy to set up
and very flexible.

Check out youtube or google RV power systems.
