Marty, this looks like the cable that controls the FC-40 External Automatic Antenna Tuner. I don't think you need this with your radio. If you do get the VL-1000 Solid State Linear Amp, you will need a cable that plugs into the "Linear Jack (10pin)" on the back of your 450D to control the amplifier.
