Hello,

this is a very nice concept:
https://www.gigaparts.com/vero-vr-n7500-50w-dual-band-mobile-radio.html.

Of course this is not HF or even as a VHF/UHF is not particularly powerful
but as a beginner I do think this will get my feet wet.

I've just bought this as my first radio and hoping to join my first net :)

I have no idea why it is not widely adapted by everyone. Even WiFi could
be possible easily. As for controlling another radio, as Jeff Greef
mentioned, you can always use two PC method. For the device side you can
use an industrial pc or a mini PC. That way it will not require too much
space, power or ventilation. This will cost you somewhere starting from 40
to 200 depending on platform/cpu etc. Then you can use remote desktop (for
Windows, even linux if you are willing to struggle with it) or VNC (for
linux distros) or any other remote control software. You'll get audio,
video etc. everything.

Hope this helps ..
