Dave,Speaking as a former Board of Directors of a HOA in Sugarland, I can tell
you with certainty that almost all of the residential planned commuities and
all areas inside SugarLand City Limits have an HOA height restriction of "the
top of the house". No antennas can be erected , especially beams , visible
above the roof line. Sugarland has a set of restrictions that can be found
somewhere in Sugarlandtx.gov. I think.
I myself was able to get a waiver in Williams Grant (Hwy6 @ Williams Trace)
where I later became a Board member , for a folding 25' tower that was down 99%
of the time behind my garage. It was a 20' tall  2" steel pipe on a hinge.
If you choose prpoperties anywhere in the Sugarland Richmond Rosenberg area
that are "acreage" , you are generally cleared, no HOA.
Now all that said, LongWires and Dipoles are perfectly "stealth" when connected
to the trees surrounding most planned communities. The older communities have a
lot of large mature Oak and Ash trees, whereas the newer communties were
flattened.
I am glad to share with you privately my HOA approval waiver from the 2000s if
you want.
Shoot for Wires and Dipoles that are somewhat stealth and you'll still have a
great HAM experience.
Since Im the net control for one of the Monday nite nets on .94, maybe we'll
use this topic again for a HOA stealth poll of experiences.

Hi, Dave (W5SV) here with a question for you members...

We are moving to Sugarland  in a few months, and I am hoping to find a
home where I might be able to put up a 70' (or taller) tower.

Are there any neighborhoods you might recommend where this is possible?

Thanks and 73 de Dave, W5SV
