You can tell that 2m is open if you listen to FM broadcast in the morning and nearby stations that usually come in strong are getting interfered with by more distant stations.  It's a sign of tropo ducting, and no it's not limited to just SSB and CW.  I've been meaning to try my new 6m antenna, but I've been too lazy to set it up in the mornings.

The bottom portion of the band is ssb, thats where the contacts I made were (144.74 and 144.200 and there abouts). FT8 is down there too, they both use USB. I did not try the FM portion of the band, but it should have been open as well.

I used two stacked loops (horizontal) about 25 feet up.

Lots of digital and SSB on 2m right now. Give 146.52 a try if you can.

Just got Illinois twice and Georgia from my loops at 25 feet.
