Not that anyone asked, but my mobile rig is a QYT KT-8900D.  Less than $85 on 
Amazon, and works a charm for local repeater work.

It's "only" 25 watts, and it doesn't have a detachable face, but it's pretty 
small.  I mounted it in the center console of my 4Runner, between the cup 
holder and the "whatever stuff" compartment.
