Thanks Jeff and Chris,

This might be something to pack when you fly somewhere and go on a driving trip
in a rented car!

Have a good day,
Mike

Not that anyone asked, but my mobile rig is a QYT KT-8900D. Less than $85 on
Amazon, and works a charm for local repeater work.

It's "only" 25 watts, and it doesn't have a detachable face, but it's pretty
small. I mounted it in the center console of my 4Runner, between the cup
holder and the "whatever stuff" compartment.

Being new I am not aware of the variety of radios that are available
these days.
Perhaps someone could tell me what radios can fulfill the following
criteria:

1. Mobile 40-50 watts
2. dual/tri band, 2m and 70cm at least
3. monitor 2 channels or frequencies at once and show both on the display
4. body mounts in trunk, display and mic on/in the dash

Thank you for your assistance,

Mike
